With housing rebounding and inventory scarce, many brokerages are scrambling to boost their agent count with recruiting pitches of all stripes.
An emotional pitch reportedly emailed by the principal of a Washington, D.C.-based “Domus Realty” (not to be confused with the New York brokerage) may not sway every agent whose inbox it arrives in, but it has at least caught the attention of washingtoncitypaper.com’s HousingComplex blog.
The pitch actually gets more torrid after this excerpt:
“Domus seeks agents who loathe all talk of positive attitudes and delusional, self-generated confidence, and prefers agents who possess a deep-seated contempt toward such things. … Domus wants agents who have little knowledge and interest in the variety of social media tools … agents who on many days want to pick up their laptops or stupid iPads and throw them out the window, or on worse days to defenestrate themselves — worse days that are probably in the end better days.” Source: washingtoncitypaper.com.
