Trulia co-founder and former President Sami Inkinen is set to embark on his next big challenge: rowing from San Francisco to Hawaii completely unsupported — despite having zero experience with boats.
Inkinen and his wife, Meredith Loring, plan to row nonstop day and night starting in June and hope to complete the 2,400-mile journey before the Pacific hurricane season hits in the fall. Their goals are to be the first and the fastest mixed pair to complete the row and to raise awareness and funds for what they call “our silent killer”: sugar and processed carbohydrates.
Inkinen, a competitive triathlete who originally hails from Finland, stepped down as Trulia’s president in March 2012, but remains on the board of directors. He cashed in on stock worth $3.56 million the day of Trulia’s initial public offering in September 2012 and, at the time, held remaining shares worth nearly $50 million. Source: fatchancerow.org.
