Vacation rental marketplace operator HomeAway Inc. has acquired Stayz Group — the publisher of Stayz.com.au, Rentahome.com.au, TakeABreak.com.au and YesBookIt — from Fairfax Digital in an all-cash deal valued at about $198 million.
Stayz generated $25.4 million in revenue (Australian dollars) in the year ending in June, employing a commission-based business model.
The acquisition of Stayz adds 33,000 Australian-based properties to the HomeAway network, and provides HomeAway with “strong momentum” for its newly launched pay-per-booking business, the company said. Source: businesswire.com
