American Home Shield is looking to raise its profile amongst real estate agents who can sell the company’s home warranties to buyers and sellers, by offering Realtors business tips and marketing advice.
The Memphis-based home warranty provider is the exclusive sponsor of “Real Estate Insider Magazine,” an online publication that explains cutting-edge concepts like using podcasts, Google Hangouts, Pinterest, Facebook and YouTube for real estate marketing. Heeding its own advice that agents market themselves on social media channels, the website, realestateinsidermag.com, has corresponding pages on Facebook and Twitter.
“We hope that you come back to visit us at Real Estate Insider often as we will continue to provide valuable guidance for you and your team,” the website says. “And we hope that when you think about providing a home warranty as a service for your clients, you’ll think of American Home Shield.”
Last year American Home Shield agreed to pay up to $26 million to settle allegations that the company paid illegal kickbacks to real estate brokers and agents to market the company’s home warranties.
The company denied that payments it made to real estate brokers who marketed its products violated RESPA, and noted that the settlement released brokers and agents from liability and provided legal standing for the company’s position that its current broker compensation program, ProConnect, “is in compliance with RESPA guidelines and regulations.” Source: businesswire.com.
