The home remodeling site Porch.com, which launched in 2012, has beefed up its leadership team with former execs from Microsoft, the mom-focused online store zulily and online gift store RedEnvelope, the firm announced today.
Craig Cincotta, a former Microsoft marketing exec, joins the Seattle-based startup as vice president of communications; Kiran Akkineni, who oversaw analytics at zulily, is Porch.com’s new director of analytics; and Pete Baltaxe, former CEO and co-founder of RedEnvelope, joins the firm as vice president of product management.
Porch.com, which raised a $6.25 million seed investment round in June, resembles other home remodeling sites Houzz and Zillow Digs. The site was designed to connect users, for free, to home improvement professionals while showcasing design ideas and costs of other projects. Porch claims to have insights on 1.5 million professionals and 90 million projects including before-and-after photos and costs.
