Facebook has expanded a program that encourages small businesses to give their customers free Wi-Fi. In exchange, customers check in on the business’s Facebook page and are asked if they want to “Like” the page.
But Digital Trends’ Kate Knibbs has her doubts about whether the service will be appealing for businesses.
“After all, are businesses who haven’t bothered to get Wi-Fi up and running for their customers really going to be lured into doing so with promises of juiced-up Facebook engagement?”
