Billy Corgan has purchased a property next door to his Highland Park, Ill., mansion that was formerly its coach house until the property was subdivided in 1948, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Corgan, who made his fortune in the music business with the Smashing Pumpkins, paid $1.25 million for the one-acre lot, which happens to have a 4,646-square-foot home sitting on it. The property was never listed. Corgan paid $6.8 million for his own 18-room, 1926 lakefront mansion back in 2003.
