About Paul
Paul Hurst is Chief Innovation Officer at First American Financial, where he is responsible for identifying opportunities to leverage the company's industry expertise, relationships, distribution channels and financial resources to invest in internal innovation, as well as through strategic venture investments, partnerships and mergers and acquisitions.
Paul also serves as Managing Director of First American’s venture investing arm. Over the past four years, Paul and his team have deployed approximately $350 million of capital into a portfolio of more than 20 residential and commercial proptech companies. Paul originally joined First American in 2019 as a member of the founding team at Endpoint, a mobile-first title and escrow company into which First American has invested $220 million to date.
Prior to First American, he was Partner at BCG Digital Ventures, where he built and launched venture-backed companies with some of the world's largest corporations. Acting as General Manager, Paul launched five companies across three continents, spanning insurance, financial services and real estate. In previous roles at BCG, he advised Fortune 100 companies on corporate strategy, M&A and digital transformation.
Paul holds a doctorate in Neuroscience from Cambridge, and master’s and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Pharmacology.
