About Joe
Joe Schutt, REALTOR® began his career in real estate in 2003 as a sales agent before going on to found Unit Realty Group (unitboston.com), a Boston-based boutique brokerage in 2012 where he serves as broker owner.
Professionally Joe has been recognized for industry excellence and currently serves on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR), Greater Boston Association of Realtors (GBAR), and the Massachusetts Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) where he is their President for 2014. Joe is also involved with, and has chaired many committees within his local Realtor organizations including Technology, Education, Strategic Planning, RPAC Trustee + Major Investor, Communications, Business Development, Social Media Task Force and Young Professionals Network for GBAR and MAR. In 2011 Joe was appointed to the board of directors for the National Association of Realtors. That same year he earned the Realtor Spirit Award from GBAR.
Despite having been recognized as a "top ranked" agent Joe finds time to be involved in the community throughout Boston. He has held executive positions within the Boston Main Streets program and the Boston Dog organization. Currently he is member of the Beacon Hill Civic Association, participates in the Neighborhood Association of Back Bay and serves on the executive committee for The Common Canine, his local dog park.
As anyone who knows Joe can tell you, he is driven by his passions. Topping that list are a marked love for all things Massachusetts, helping and meeting new people, service excellence, green and sustainable living, and most important, his family that includes his partner of 13 years and two precocious miniature schnauzers, Ruebin and Irving.
If life wasn't already busy enough Joe finds time to participate in a thought leadership role on various blogs, including his own, and in many real estate focused communities on and off-line like Inman News' Reboot and Connect where has served as ambassador, and RE BarCamp Boston where he's been the event organizer. Joe's thoughts and opinions have been quoted in Financial Times, The Boston Globe, Boston Homes, Cambridge Homes, REALTOR Magazine, National Public Radio and Kelly Mitchell's Agent Caffeine. Recently Joe has become a trainer working for other brokerages. His expertise is helping agents with real estate and technology/social media related challenges.
