About Clelia
Clelia Warburg Peters is the Managing Partner at Era Ventures, a venture capital firm she founded in 2022 to invest in ideas leveraging technology and innovation to reimagine the physical world. Her blended experience in both residential and commercial real estate and venture capital has helped to position her as one of the Proptech industry’s preeminent investors and innovators.
Until late 2021, Clelia was a Venture Partner at Bain Capital Ventures, working across the Bain Capital platform to support the firm’s Proptech practice and investments. Previously, she was a co-founding Partner at MetaProp, originally a Proptech accelerator which evolved to be one of foundational early stage Proptech venture funds. At MetaProp, Clelia worked with her co-founders’ to position the current Proptech space and increase its legitimacy by establishing the Global Proptech Confidence Index and the MetaProp Accelerator at Columbia University.
Additionally, Clelia sits on the Board of Trustees for two of Proptech’s leading later stage companies: Side and Mynd Management, and is a Board Member for the real estate innovation-focused special acquisition company (SPAC) Shelter. As an editor-at-large for Inman she co-moderates the Inman Conferences and previously served as the founding co-chair of REBNY’s RLS Board of Directors (the equivalent of the NY MLS).
Clelia was the President of Warburg Realty (now Coldwell Banker Warburg) from 2016 until its sale in 2021, where she worked alongside her father, CEO Frederick Warburg Peters. At Warburg she was responsible for the firm’s business development and marketing strategies and for maintaining a focus on revenue growth. It was her direct experience with the lack of innovation around the residential real estate transaction that sparked her interest in PropTech.
Clelia earned her undergraduate degree from Yale, and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She previously worked with the Boston Consulting Group in London, and with the International Rescue Committee in Nepal and the Democratic Republic of Congo. She currently lives in her native city of New York with her husband and two children. In her (limited) free time she is an avid reader, with a particular penchant for poetry, and is a student of somatics and the numinous.
