Mercer Human Resource Consulting has just released its ranking of the top 50 cities worldwide in their quality of living and cost of living surveys (PDF links).
Portland came in at #43 in the quality of living rankings – which is a great endorsement of its livability. My hometown, (Vancouver, Canada) came in #3 in the world once again this year, beaten only by the Swiss cities of Geneva and Zurich. Interestingly, Moscow just replaced Tokyo as the most expensive city in the world this year. Some more interesting findings in there too… Lagos, Nigeria is more expensive to live in than Miami?
