Last Friday ARG Realty CEO Jim Abbott publicly stated on YouTube that he was removing his listings from Realtor.com, Zillow and Trulia.
By doing so, Jim knowingly reduced the online exposure of his companies listings in San Diego by 36%.
Since 88% of buyers start their search online — so that they’re literally bringing the home of their choice to their Realtor — it’s easy to see why so many people started asking questions about Jim’s decision.
Jim was kind enough to sit down with me on on one via Skype (sorry for the video quality) to talk about his decision. I know you’ll be interested in his opinions.
After hearing what Jim has to say, what do you think about his passionate stance against listing syndication for our industry?
