Agent Reboot arrives in Dallas on Feb. 29.
In my role as chief evangelist I emcee Inman News events. I wanted to personally provide some insights, as this will be my 30th Reboot, into why Agent Reboot is better than ever and a not-to-be-missed day when we come to your market.
1. The fundamentals have been established.
For the last two years we have all been on a quest of sorts to figure out which platforms and technologies were going to help our businesses the most. Many shiny objects emerged and are now gone.
This year at Agent Reboot we have built the day around what we are calling “pillar” content. The foundation of your Web marketing, if you will.
Google is not a fad, with 3 billion searches a day and nearly 70 percent of the search market share.
Facebook will pass 1 billion members in 2012, 850 million of them monthly active users.
YouTube is the video destination of choice, with 24 hours of video being uploaded every minute.
Twitter has become the heartbeat of America, breaking news and making events like the Super Bowl a more connected experience.
All of these activities are more commonly taking place on a 3-inch screen in your pocket or on a tablet while you lie in bed in the morning.
Agent Reboot will be focused and built around these core technologies and how to use them for your business at the highest level possible.
2. Beginner and advanced topics are more clearly defined.
I have to admit that real estate agent audiences can pose a big challenge.
Many are there because they know they need to learn a lot.
They realize that “all this tech stuff” may just be the missing link in their current business model, so they come with a sponge mentality and leave with pages of notes and inspiration.
There is also a segment of the audience that is what we would simply call advanced.
They follow Katie Lance and me on Twitter and Facebook. They read InmanNext religiously. They loved “The Queue” from when I was with Tech Savvy Agent, etc. …
What I have found at many conferences is that due to this divide, even though there really isn’t a medium savvy, it seems like coaches and trainers are teaching down the middle.
At Agent Reboot we have addressed this challenge by taking our pillar content and spending time covering both the basic and advanced strategies within one presentation. What has been fun to watch is the “advanced” agents picking up “basic” tips, and the “beginner” agents getting excited about the “advanced” ideas. This approach was a huge success in New York City last month, and we are excited to bring it to your area soon!
3. The speaker lineup is bananas.
I very rarely use the word “bananas,” but hear me out. There are always guest speakers in each local market who are excellent — many times they are highly successful, uber-plugged-in mega-agents who are to the latest and greatest marketing ideas.
What I am thrilled about for 2012 is that, in addition to the local experts, our lineup of speakers who will be a part of the entire 16-city tour is A++.
To put the following list in perspective, last year Darin Persinger and I were the only two speakers on the entire tour.
This year we are excited that the following speakers will be at all Agent Reboot events (view a list on Twitter to follow them all):
Chris Smith (@Chris_Smth) — chief evangelist at Inman News;
Katie Lance (@KatieLance) — social media director of Inman News and contributing editor at InmanNext;
Jim Marks (@JimMarks) — founder of Virtual Results and Internet anthropologist;
Steve Pacinelli (@stevepacinelli) — co-founder of Tech Savvy Agent and vice president of events for Realtor.com;
Jimmy Mackin (@JimmyMackin) — Facebook expert and “chief frugylist” at Frugyl;
Darin Persinger (@DarinPersinger) — founder of Productivity Junkies and Levels Coaching; and
Glenn Sanford (@CEOGlenn) — founder and CEO of exp Realty.
The consistency of having speakers who work together regularly benefits the audience tremendously. Knowing what the other speakers are covering equals less miscommunication on our end, which leads to a better experience and content for you as an attendee!
4. Content really is king
If you look back at the first three reasons I have outlined, they are all based on one thing: great content.
Inman News takes pride as an organization in presenting the best content in the industry both at our events and on our websites.
Real Estate Connect, Inman News, InmanNext and now the 2012 Agent Reboot Tour.
Based on these four reasons, will you join us when we come to your neck of the woods?
