The California Association of Realtors’ initiative to build a statewide multiple listing service, calREDD, once again has three Realtor associations contributing listings, with the Lake County Association of Realtors coming on board Monday.

CalREDD launched on Aug. 17 with three participating Realtor associations: Fresno, Madera and Merced. The Fresno Association of Realtors pulled out of calREDD less than two weeks later, after members complained about problems with the software platform (see story).

According to a CAR press release, 68 Realtor associations and MLSs representing more than 120,000 Realtors are moving forward with or have signed nonbinding letters of intent to participate in calREDD. A total of 11 Realtor associations are expected to be online by the end of April, according to a schedule posted on the calREDD site.

Chico, Oroville and Paradise are scheduled to go live Jan. 25, followed by Amador and Yosemite in March, and Mariposa, Tehama and Plumas in April.

Fresno has "not ruled out returning to calREDD, but at this point (has) made no plans to return," Realtor George Mees, the Fresno association’s president, told Inman News. "We really want to see them succeed."

CalREDD, an acronym for California Real Estate Dynamic Data, last year announced an agreement to join CARETS, a group of Southern California MLSs that have formed an alliance to share listings, once calREDD became a functioning MLS.

But last week CARETS — an acronym for California Real Estate Technology Services — said it will stop admitting new members, including calREDD, for six to nine months while it works to resolve growth-related technical issues.

Officials with CARETS and calREDD’s parent company, California MLS Inc., have said the moratorium does not spell the end of their agreement for calREDD to become a CARETS member (see story).
