The annual list of 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders recognizes those who embrace leadership, innovation, ingenuity, power and persistence — they are industry luminaries and also those outside figures whose actions influence the business of buying and selling homes.

The lists of most influential real estate bloggers, Twitter users ("Tweeters") and masters of social media recognizes individuals whose rousing real estate insight can incite change — they have a knack for stirring up lively discussion and debate on important, timely and relevant topics for the real estate industry.
The 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders list includes a range of categories:
- Residential real estate brokerage
- Technology and online real estate
- Real estate trade association and government agencies
- Media heavyweights
- Economists, academics and advocates
- Mortgage and ancillary services

This year’s 25 Most Influential Real Estate Bloggers list celebrates the authors of a range of top industry-related blogs, including:
- Broker and agent blogs
- Community/multi-author blogs

- Housing economics blogs
- Industry commentary blogs
- Marketing and how-to blogs
- Local blogs
- Company blogs
- Journalists’ blogs
- Housing bubble blogs
- International real estate blogs

This year we are also seeking nominations for the top 10 Most Influential Real Estate Tweeters. These are the topflight Twitter users who have developed a flock of followers for their insightful, real estate-relevant posts.
And we are recognizing the top five Most Influential Real Estate Social Media Masters: an elite class of individuals who have demonstrated a heightened level of proficiency in their use of many forms of social media. They are adept in carrying their real estate messages to the masses and advancing the business of real estate through a variety of media, such as online videos, podcasts, Facebook posts, photos, participation in real estate question-and-answer sites, blogging, chats, tweets (Twitter posts), and other forms of communication.

Nominations will be reviewed by Inman News editorial staff and company managers, and an internal review team will consider these and other influential individuals that fit the criteria before making a final selection.
The 2009 list of 25 Most Influential Real Estate Bloggers, as well as the top 10 Most Influential Real Estate Tweeters and top five Most Influential Real Estate Social Media Masters, will be published in an Inman News Special Report in November 2009, and the 2009 list of 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders will be published in an Inman News Special Report in December 2009.
