A top Coldwell Banker NRT team is making the jump to Keller Williams, it was announced Wednesday. The move follows a string of high-profile defections from Coldwell Banker NRT earlier this month.
The Laugesen Team, which closed more than $130 million in sales in Burlingame, California, in 2018, announced it was joining Keller Williams Peninsula Estates. The team, headlined by the mother-daughter duo of Denise and Cortney Laugesen, has been serving luxury buyers in Hillsborough and Burlingame for more than 20 years.
“We want to be around other progressive, like-minded, high-energy agents who are willing to support and promote other women,” Cortney Laugesen, co-owner of The Laugesen Team, told Inman, citing a Forbes study that ranked Keller Williams as the eighth-best employer for women.
The addition of The Laugesen Team will boost the standing of the growing KW Peninsula Estates brokerage, which failed to rank on Real Trends’ list of the top Keller Williams franchises, but now adds a $130 million sales volume, four-person team.
“We are happy to have The Laugesen Team as part of the KW family,” Nicole Aissa, team leader and principal of KW Peninsula Estates said in a statement. “We have been long-time admirers of their business integrity, their end-to-end client service standards and their dedication to giving back to our community.”
The move marks the third high-profile loss for Coldwell Banker NRT – Realogy’s own-side brokerage – this month.
Both Chris Cortazzo, Coldwell Banker’s top agent and the number three agent in the country in sales volume, according to Real Trends, and Ginger Glass, the 71st ranked agent in sales volume according to Real Trends, made the switch from Coldwell Banker NRT to Compass.
“Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California strives to provide our affiliated agents with superior support and resources to live exceptional lives,” Mike James, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California, said in a statement. “It is tough to say goodbye to agents that we’ve nurtured through the years. However, we respect the agents’ decision to move brokerages.”
