It only takes one…
One skill you “own” and completely embody.
It’s your superpower!
But do you even know what yours is?
In this Coaching Corner, I’m talking about 5 superpowers of uber-successful real estate agents.
Here are three action steps for you to take away today:
- Gain awareness of your superpower(s)!
- Acknowledge where you can improve
- Devise a plan with your coach or mentor
Successful agent superpower number one: ambitious goals
Goals are powerful things.
Do your goals spur you into massive action? If not, create them!
They should bring energy, passion and action to your business. Uber-successful agents who set big, ambitious goals are inspired into massive action!
When you don’t have goals, you end up wandering aimlessly.
Set daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals that FIRE YOU UP!

Successful agent superpower number two: high standards
How much would your business improve if you could eliminate the ups and downs and the peaks and valleys?
It’s an age-old dilemma of the real estate professional. At times you’re overflowing with leads and income… other times you’re scrambling for buyers and wondering where your next mortgage payment is coming from.
The solution to this problem is consistency. And consistency is achieved through establishing minimum standards.
Uber-successful agents have standards that they refuse to fall below. Once you’ve established your goals in your business plan, you can set minimum standards based on the number of conversations and appointments you need to achieve your goals. Determine your standards for listings and pending transactions accordingly.
Such as:
- X number of appointments weekly
- Y number of active listings
- Z number of pending/escrows
…at all times!
Don’t confuse these with goals. These are bare minimums that uber-successful agents will go to the ends of the earth to ensure are met.
Set those standards for your business, and more consistency is certainly in your future.
Successful agent superpower number three: eliminate distractions and focus on what matters
What really matters most in real estate? I consider these the six most important dollar-producing habits every agent should develop:
- Role-playing
- Prospecting
- Follow-up appointment setting
- Going on appointments
- Negotiations
- Transforming your team members’ skills
When you can eliminate the distractions and focus on these activities, you’ve truly developed a real estate superpower.

Successful agent superpower number four: high energy
No uber-successful agent lacks energy.
The question then becomes, “Is energy a born trait or can it be created?”
The answer is that we all have energy, but the most successful people can create it as well.
They do that through:
- Words and positive self-talk
- Music
- Nutrition
- Hydrating
- Exercise
If your energy is lacking, get your body in motion, address your eating habits or change or shake up your routine. Energy begets energy, so the more you make an effort, the more your natural energy will increase.
Successful agent superpower number five: a quantitative approach
Charisma and a more qualitative approach is a great first step toward success in real estate, but it can only take you so far.
The fifth superpower of real estate is running your business from a quantitative approach, which means:
- Track and measure what matters
- Use that data to make good decisions
- Identify what’s scalable, repeatable and operational in your business
