This survey is now closed. Stay tuned for the results, to be released March 5-9 during Leadership Week.
This winter, Inman is obsessing over leadership in real estate. We’re publishing profiles, Q&As, strategy guides, and an in-depth 5-part report on what the industry wants from its leaders. Then, on March 26-28, we’re going to gather those leaders in the California desert to digest all of these inputs and figure out where to go from here.
This is a collaborative process. Please fill out our surveys, engage with our posts, and send us feedback to leadership@inman.com. And if you are a leader who wants to join us in the desert in March, or if you want to recommend a colleague, send a note to brad@inman.com and tell us why.
The time for equivocating is over: in a world undergoing disruption from massive changes in technology, government, and society, the leaders of the real estate industry need to act decisively to secure a place for themselves and their businesses in the future.
What should your bosses do to meet these challenges? Are they taking the right stances on the big issues of our time — from taxes and regulations to border security, sexual harassment and climate change? Most importantly: where are they going wrong, and how can they change their approach to better serve their workforces?
Inman is inviting you — the hardworking members of the real estate industry — to fill out our inaugural Real Estate Leadership Survey below and tell the industry bigwigs what you really think of the job they are doing. Think of it as a reverse performance review: you get to grade (anonymously, if you prefer) the heads of your company, and industry leaders as a whole, and give them advice on how they can improve things for you.
In exchange, we’ll automatically enter you in a drawing for two free passes to Inman Connect San Francisco 2018.

We’ll also be presenting the results of our survey in our upcoming Guide for Real Estate Leadership during Inman Leadership Week March 5-9, 2018, authored by our own senior reporter Jotham Sederstrom. This guide will be an invaluable resource for all of those who serve in leadership positions in real estate — companies large and small — and will be presented to the attendees of Inman’s Disconnect in the Desert event in Palm Springs on March 26-28, who will be asked to draft a response addressing the concerns of real estate industry members.
Our goal here at Inman is simple: use our role as journalists to facilitate an honest dialogue between industry leaders and their workforce, and ask leaders to address the ways they are falling short. So go on, take the survey and tell industry leaders what you really think.
