Florida cruised past the national home price increase of 6 percent to a hot 7.5 percent annual rise in July, according to CoreLogic, while Miami experienced an annual home price increase of 6.2 percent.
WalletHub analyzed 150 cities to categorize and score family-friendly qualities such as relative cost of housing, proximity to health care, school district quality and recreational opportunities. Miami took a steep hit, ranking no. 145 and scoring last in affordability and in the bottom 10 for socioeconomic environment.
Areas with the most frequent home flips are concentrated in Florida, according to Attom Data Solutions’ second quarter home flipping report. Among 100 metro areas with at least 90 homes flipped in the second quarter of 2016, Tampa, Lakeland-Winter Haven, Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormong Beach and Miami were in the top 10.
