The 13th annual run of MarketplaceLIVE, the networking event from Digital Realty, is closely approaching. On September 22, the San Francisco-based technical real estate provider is hosting its networking event at Spring Studios in New York City under the theme, “Learning from Unexpected Places.”

Digital Realty’s real estate portfolio includes 150 data centers across 14 countries and four continents. The data facilities are smartly designed for today’s interconnected businesses, featuring cloud tethering, offices and warehouse space in many of its campuses.

Buzzfeed CEO Jonah Peretti is set to deliver the keynote address in the morning. Other highlights include workshops, sessions, Networking 101 with the New York Network Operators’ Group and a hackathon to foster creativity and teamwork.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast and registration, and later moving through keynotes, workshops, breakout sessions, the hackathon, a happy hour and rooftop after party.

Digital Realty’s newest platform called MarketplacePORTAL will be unveiled at the event.

MarketplacePORTAL is a business relationship building platform that uses a directory to expand connections, with tools to help sell services and products and simultaneously manage data centers.

Digital Realty customers, Windstream included, helped make the delivery possible. Windstream is a Fortune 500 telecommunications company with the sixth largest fiber network in the U.S.

“The enhanced MarketplacePORTAL offers Windstream unique insight into deployment opportunities, but even more importantly, it also serves as a powerful guide when designing optimized, customized solutions for our enterprise and wholesale customers,” Jeff Brown, director of product management and marketing for Windstream’s wholesale business unit, said in a statement.

Digital Realty and the tech collaboration initiative

Digital Realty hosts the event each year to bring together its clients from a range of technology-driven industries, including real estate, cloud computing, financial services, telecommunications, media, energy and consumer products.

The MarketplaceLIVE promise includes two new networking contacts, no panels and a minimum of one actionable idea to take to work. Over 1,000 industry leaders and tech workers are expected to attend this year.

Regular registration is $150 per person, less taxes and fees. Sales end on September 21.
