The S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices showed Chicago’s average home price to be $132,970 in April. This is 2 percent growth over March, following 1.3 percent growth from the month before. Since April 2015, average home prices have climbed 3.1 percent, according to the report.
Real Trends recently recognized real estate’s best in its 2016 America’s Best Real Estate Agents list, breaking down Illinois and Chicago’s best performing agents and teams by closed transaction sides and closed sales volume.
Although its 3.7 percent year-over-year Home Price Index increase posted in May was the second lowest of the markets studied by CoreLogics latest report, the Chicago-Naperville-Arlington Heights area’s market condition is considered normal by CoreLogic. Despite the relatively low annual growth, Chicago’s month-over-month increase in May was 1.5 percent.
