This week’s Washington D.C. news relating to the real estate industry.

Need news in a flash? Here’s what’s happening in your community.

Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat from Massachusetts, spoke at the National Association of Realtors’ midyear conference in Washington D.C. last week to urge Realtors to support a bill that could help student loan borrowers enter the housing market.

Cheryl Spangler profiles the Clara Barton, one of the few modern high-rise towers in Penn Quarter and near D.C.’s Gallery District.

The National Association of Realtors got a budget boost from increased membership this year, benefiting from brokers and agents trying to get a piece of an improving housing market. A 120,000 increase in members is largely responsible for turning what was projected to be a deficit of $4.7 million this year into a surplus of $266,800.
