Condo owners at 50 United Nations Plaza can now tack another amenity onto the high-end Manhattan tower in Turtle Bay’s extensive list: a motor court.
The 10,000 square foot, private drop-off near the entry is a common feature of a hotel, but rarely seen in New York City’s high-rise residential properties. Although novel for NYC living, unloading away from the street is inarguably a more leisurely, pleasant experience — something co-developers Zeckendorf and Global Holdings recognize as a unique draw.
“In New York City, the ability to come and go from one’s home via a landscaped, gated motor-court, complete with valet parking, is the rarest of amenities and just one of the hallmarks of luxury that sets 50 United Nations Plaza apart,” said Jill Mangone, director of sales and marketing for 50 United Nations Plaza.

Only a handful of NYC condo properties incorporate a motor court into their exterior designs. One of which is 15 Central Park West, Arthur and William Lie Zeckendorf’s ultra high-end property that managed to uphold major success — even in the late ’00s.
To keep with the exclusivity of the entryway, M. Paul Friedberg & Partners, the renowned landscape architecture firm hired for the motor court, designed a hedge wall and gate to border East 46th Street.
While use of the drop-off zone is free, parking is not. One of the property’s 88 parking spaces can be purchased for $150,000 and are limited to one per residence. Valet parking is included with the purchase of a parking space.
On the inside, 50 United Nations Plaza holds a 75-foot indoor swimming pool, fitness center and cascading water feature in the lobby.
Foster + Partners led the design on all 88 condos in the building, incorporating details like floor-to-ceiling glass windows, stainless steel detailing and even a private pool in the duplex Penthouse unit. The building’s vantage point provides views of the UN Secretariat building, East River, Chrysler Building and more of the NYC skyline.
One-bedroom apartments are 1,147 square feet, and two-bedrooms range from 1,132 to 1,636 square feet at 50 United Nations Plaza, with three bedrooms spanning 2,609 to 3,004 square feet. The full-floor penthouses offer five bedrooms and two staff rooms within 5,893 square feet. The duplex penthouse has a whopping 10,000 square feet.
The 42-floor tower was finished in 2015, but sales began at the property a few years ago. Currently, 14 units are listed for sale, ranging from $2.29 million all the way up to $70 million, according to CityRealty.
This year, the property closed on two units — a 1,624 square foot, two-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom condo for $3,971,175 in mid-January. A buyer also purchased a similar unit for $3,563,875 in mid-February.
