With a presence on both the West and East coasts of the southern part of the state, the builder offers a variety of community types and price points.
GL Homes did not return a call requesting an interview for this story, but the company’s website paints a picture of a company that caters to a discerning population. Frequently, its buyers are repeat customers, many buying a second or even third GL Home.
The company began in 1976 as a small, local builder, and now has more than 63,000 people living in GL homes throughout Florida. The builder specializes in single-family residences in large-scale, master-planned communities.
Other divisions of the company include GL Building Corporation,GL Financial Services, GL Commercial and GL Signature Homes.
GL Homes says that it’s success is in the details. They point out that many of the features and that add value to a GL home and a GL community are not visible at first glance. Before a foundation is laid, the GL Homes team works diligently behind the scenes.
For example, land purchases are strategically made. Master plans are crafted to balance the use of open space, lakes and recreation areas. Communities are carefully planned to be both beautiful and functional. Floorplans are scrutinized for a maximum use of space and functionality. Top quality materials are used at every step along the way.
GL has South Florida communities in:
- Boca/Delray
- Boyton Beach
- Ft. Myers
- Naples
- West Palm Beach
In several of these areas, the company has more than one property.
The company also serves the Tampa market.
In addition to the South Florida Business Journal ranking, Builder Magazine ranked the company as the 11th largest homebuilder in the US on its “Builder 100” list, and they ranked as the 28th largest homebuilder in the country according to Professional Builder’s Housing Giants.
