Real estate franchise Keller Williams has acquired Team Leads Inc., an agent team business solution provider based in Ontario, Canada.
The company has rebranded the solution as KW Team Leads. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The Team Leads platform will be extended to teams from other brokerages (not KW companies) next year.
The front end of the platform deploys landing pages to generate traffic, which are then converted to leads for real estate teams. On the back end, a lead management program is designed for teams to schedule, follow up and turn leads into transactions.
While the new service is aimed at teams, it replicates some of the functionality of Market Leader, which KW uses as both a front-end and back-end solution. Inman previously reported that Market Leader — which Zillow Group inherited when Zillow acquired Trulia — was being sold. KW was silent about its Market Leader relationship.
Yesterday, Keller Williams announced a partnership with Boston-based Placester for agent website creation.
During a yearlong process of interviewing 52 successful teams across the country, KW searched for a technology platform that would seamlessly integrate” the economic and lead generation models” these top teams use.
Keller Williams at first collaborated with Team Leads Inc. before formally acquiring the firm.
Adam Merrick, of the Adam Merrick Team/Keller Williams Realty, said that “KW Team Leads will be an industry-changing platform.”
As part of the acquisition, Team Leads Inc. will keep its corporate name and remain a separate business entity, under Keller Williams, with a clear focus on innovating its agent team business technology.
“We are very excited to be a part of the Keller Williams family. And we have worked very hard in developing an innovative product that not only applies to Keller Williams’ agent teams, but teams worldwide,” said Tyler Johnstone, CEO, Team Leads.
With more than 20 employees, the Team Leads headquarters will remain based in Ontario, Canada. Johnstone and the current directors and developers of Team Leads will continue to maintain operations in alignment with the Keller Williams software vision.
Team Leads is expected to add 15 employees over the next four months to keep pace with current growth. The Keller Williams-owned company will release the Team Leads solution industrywide in 2016.
