Madison Hildebrand of The Malibu Life, Partners Trust, will be one of the featured speakers at Inman Connect San Francisco.
We caught up with Hildebrand and asked him three questions about his real estate philosophy. Here’s what he had to say:
1. What’s something about the real estate industry you believe that others don’t?
I believe that regardless of future economic recessions, we will not repeat the mistakes we saw during our latest crisis. Banks are strict, the government wised up, buyers are prequalified and the reserves needed to borrow money are rigid; therefore, people who can afford real estate can truly afford it — even in bad times.
Real estate is tangible, safe and fun.
2. What connection have you made — business or personal — that changed the course of your life?
Recently, it is all about my ambassadorships! Since I left Coldwell Banker and became a founding partner at Malibu’s Partners Trust, I have been on an ambassador mission … (insert proud, reflective laughter here).
It has been about two years since I became the sole ambassador for DocuSign — and I am passionate about this company, through and through. Another is Leverage Global Partners, as that company has connected me with only the best, vetted independent brokerages throughout the world. A role I get to fill by being that agent, that ambassador, who deserves the care of an independent brokerage but demands global exposure. Everywhere I go, I have a real estate partner.
Lastly, to complete me, it is my ambassador role for Giveback Homes that makes me feel most rewarded, strictly on a very personal level. It has allowed me to help broadcast, impact others and promote housing, and it has given me an opportunity to safely show up and suit up to build homes for those who depend on prayers. This organization, this ambassadorship, can provide anyone this feeling — a feeling you can only sweat to feel, not pay to feel.
3. What’s on your radar for 2016 as a sleeper opportunity for agents/brokers/companies in the real estate space?
One thing that recently came on to my radar was joining Giveback Homes, becoming an ambassador and aligning with a real estate-related, real estate-minded organization, which involves a “hands-on” approach to philanthropic #giveback and #networking trips. The “sleeper opportunity” is giving back by getting involved.
Nothing makes me feel more connected and more present then physically giving your time and effort back to helping other humans. Check out www.givebackhomes.com to see what I am talking about … especially for us Realtors, where we are presumed leaders of our communities, but also socially expected to give back to others.
