Zillow-owned StreetEasy, a listing portal covering the New York City area, has launched a blog to showcase original research and company news, market data and “stories on the complexities and quirks of living in New York City.”
The StreetEasy Blog will “serve as a helpful intersection for all the data and information StreetEasy is known for, packaged together with useful insights by New Yorkers, for New Yorkers,” StreetEasy said.
In launching the blog, StreetEasy has adopted a marketing strategy that other listing portals, including StreetEasy’s owner, Zillow, have used to drive traffic to their websites.
Zillow publishes blogs on topics including celebrity real estate, tips and advice for consumers and market trends, and syndicates some of that content to other websites that are part of its listing network, including AOL Real Estate and Yahoo Homes.
Trulia provides similar coverage, as well as advice and tips for real estate professionals, through “Trulia Pro” (Inman has republished articles from Trulia Pro).
StreetEasy’s editorial staff, research team and a roster of industry professionals, including Ryan Serhant of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing New York,” will produce content for StreetEasy’s new blog.
The blog will feature three sections:
- “StreetSmarts” will showcase original research about trends and data behind the New York City real estate market.
- “NYC Living” will run posts by StreetEasy’s editorial staff and guest contributors who will “share their New York City real estate expertise.
- StreetEasy News will provide the latest updates about StreetEasy’s products and apps and information for New York City’s real estate professionals.
