She was a straight “D” student in high school and college and held 20 jobs by the time she was 23. But Barbara Corcoran refused to give up, borrowing $1,000 to start one of New York’s largest and most successful real estate firms and eventually gaining superstar status as an entrepreneur and investor on ABC’s hit show “Shark Tank.”
Corcoran will share the secrets of her success and what it takes to grow a real estate business and thrive as an entrepreneur when she takes the stage at Real Estate Connect New York City on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Marriott Marquis.
Famously brash, blunt, bold and courageous in her approach to real estate and entrepreneurship, Corcoran has invested her own money in 22 businesses, selecting venture capital opportunities on little more than gut instinct, her own business experience and the unconventional lessons she learned from her homemaker mom.
“A one of a kind, Barbara will be a guaranteed hit at Connect, fitting the theme of ‘How I Built It’ as well as anyone,” said Inman Publisher Brad Inman.
In addition to “Shark Tank,” Corcoran is a regular on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” “20/20” and “The View,” “The Today Show on NBC,” and other news and information programs.
Corcoran’s keynote address is being sponsored by Real Estate Webmasters.
“We are grateful to Morgan Carey, CEO of Real Estate Webmasters, for making this happen,” said Inman.
