Urban planning news site Planetizen has unveiled its annual list of the top 10 Web-based resources for urban planning, design and development.
Winners include BlightStatus, which enables people to track the transformation of blight in New Orleans; Urban Observatory, a site that compares 16 global cities along 16 data points; and Second City Zoning, a Sim City-inspired site that renders Chicago’s zoning code “digestible by humans.”
“As America’s urban revival picks up speed, 2013 has seen many of the world’s most notable current events play out on an urban stage. This year’s Top Websites provide a platform for generating bottom-up planning, design and social movements,” said Jonathan Nettler, managing editor at Planetizen.
