Brokerage Carrington Real Estate Services LLC says it’s combining its local operations in North and South Carolina with those of Graham, N.C.-based brokerage owner Jason Cox.
Cox and his team of agents — who had previously done business as East Coast REO — are operating under the Carrington umbrella, complementing Carrington’s existing presence in these markets, the company said.
The two groups will operate out of a single location in Graham, at the same address where East Coast REO was based. The Carrington Real Estate Services website lists 25 brokers and agents, including Cox, working out of the Graham location.
“Carrington is committed to growing in ways that benefit its bottom line while simultaneously providing tangible, enhanced value to real estate consumers nationwide,” said Carrington Real Estate Services President Steve DiUbaldo in a statement. “Adding Jason Cox and team under the Carrington umbrella allows us to boost our market share and provides us the additional manpower to offer exceptional service to consumers in North and South Carolina.”
Carrington Real Estate Services employed a similar strategy in expanding its Florida operations. Last week the brokerage announced it was growing by more than 180 agents in South Florida by combining local operations with those of The Real Estate Club, with both groups working out of The Real Estate Club’s existing Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., office.
Based in Santa Ana, Calif., Carrington Real Estate Services is one of 18 companies under the umbrella of Carrington Holding Company LLC. Together, Carrington says, its companies “cover virtually every aspect of the single-family residential real estate transaction.”
Companies under the Carrington umbrella include Carrington Capital Management LLC, an investor in mortgage-backed securities, and Carrington Mortgage Services LLC, an originator and servicer of home loans. The brokerage’s ties to its sister company have provided it with a steady supply of real estate owned (REO) listings.
Carrington Real Estate Services is licensed in 25 states, and claims more than 1,300 sales agents working out of 35 corporately owned and operated branch offices.
In announcing its expansion into Michigan and Colorado in June, Carrington said it also planned to open brokerage offices in 2013 in Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
