Franchisor Real Living Real Estate — which last year came under the ownership of a joint venture that’s majority-owned by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. affiliate HomeServices of America Inc. — will resume selling new franchises and expects to open new locations this year, the company said.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to resume the growth of the Real Living network,” said Bob McAdams, president of Real Living, in a statement.
Real Living halted franchise sales efforts last year during the transition in ownership from Brookfield Residential Property Services to Irvine, Calif.-based HSF Affiliates LLC, a joint venture of Brookfield Asset Management and HomeServices of America.
HSF Affiliates operates the Real Living and Prudential Real Estate affiliate networks, and Warren Buffett’s new franchise network, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.
“HSF Affiliates will continue to operate multiple real estate brands, and Real Living is well positioned within our overall organization,” said Earl Lee, CEO of HSF Affiliates, in a statement. “All our brands are unique, and Real Living has a strong appeal for many prospective franchisees.”
