Northern California multiple listing service MLSListings Inc. has launched a tool that monitors member user accounts for unauthorized use, including account sharing and account takeover.
Scout for SAFEMLS is a tool real estate data security firm Clareity Security describes as "an identity profiling engine" that aggregates user access data, creates statistical profiles, and detects unauthorized users by identifying user devices and analyzing keystroke patterns.
"With Scout for SAFEMLS, we are confident that our subscribers’ information is safe and secure, to keep their real estate business running smoothly," said Jim Harrison, president and CEO of MLSListings Inc., in a statement.
MLSListings Inc. has 18,000 members in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The MLS is the latest of more than 90 institutions to incorporate Scout for SAFEMLS. In June, four Canadian real estate boards signed multiyear contracts to add the tool to their CoreLogic MLXchange MLS systems.
In the U.S., earlier this year Clareity Security also signed North Carolina-based Triad Multiple Listing Service and South Carolina-based Charleston Trident Multiple Listing Service (CTMLS) to multiyear Scout for SAFEMLS agreements, and signed contract extensions with the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors (MIBOR) and the Greater El Paso Association of Realtors.
