Long Island MLS hires RED for website rebuild

The Multiple Listing Service of Long Island Inc.’s consumer-facing website, MLSLI.com, will relaunch this spring as a mobile-enabled listing portal with new lead routing capabilities.

MLSLI has partnered with Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based Real Estate Digital (RED) on what the companies characterized as a "rebuild" of MLSLI.com.

The companies said that in addition to enabling MLSLI.com for mobile devices, Real Estate Digital has been tasked with improving ease of use and access to information.

Property-specific data on open houses, school and neighborhood reports will be seamlessly integrated with listing data, the companies said.

When the site relaunches, MLSLI members will be able to choose whether to direct leads to a brokerage firm, broker or individual agent.

MLSLI.com is already one of the best-performing consumer-facing MLS websites in the U.S., the companies said, citing data from Experian Hitwise.

MLSLI has more than 19,000 members, and MLSLI.com currently offers map search capabilities of more than 30,000 listings in Brooklyn and neighboring Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties, as well as information on open houses, sold properties, neighborhoods and schools.

Real Estate Digital was formed last year by a team of former managers with Lender Processing Services Inc.’s Real Estate Group. The managers bought out a number of LPS business lines including rDesk websites and customer relationship management; Internet Data Exchange and comparative market analysis products; the Real Estate and Living Media Network (REALM) online advertising service; reDataVault; TransactionPoint; DocCentral; FormCentral; MLS Portal; and neighborhood and school reports.

CEO Jay Gaskill served as president of LPS Real Estate Group for five years, and Real Estate Digital claims relationships with more than 400 MLSs, 350 brokerages, nearly 60 settlement services companies, and more than 250,000 real estate professionals.

Last year, Colorado-based Metrolist Inc. selected Real Estate Digital’s MLS Portal to power its consumer-facing property listings site, and the California Regional Multiple Listing Service Inc. said it would tap the company to redesign its consumer-facing search portal, HomeSeekers.com.
