In another move into the rental space, real estate search and marketing site Trulia has partnered with national rental search site Apartments.com, Trulia announced today.
As of Oct. 27, Apartments.com is syndicating its listings to Trulia, adding more than 100,000 new rental listings to the site, Trulia said.
The partnership has increased apartment community listings on Trulia by 40 percent, the company added, and Trulia users can now sort their property search results to prioritize apartment communities. Trulia defines an apartment community as an apartment building or complex with multiple units and with professional on-site management.
As a result of adding Apartments.com’s image-rich listings, Trulia now has 75 percent more photos per listing on average, the company said. Where available, the site also supports building video tours of Apartments.com listings.
Trulia spokesman Ken Shuman noted that the site’s daily leads for apartment communities have jumped nearly 60 percent since the partnership went live.
"Our users are loving Apartments.com listings," Shuman said.
Apartments.com was the fourth most visited real estate-related website devoted exclusively to rentals in October, according to rankings from Web metrics firm Experian Hitwise. The site was the 13th most visited site in the real estate category overall; Trulia was the fourth.
Trulia debuted rental search on its site in April 2010. The site released an Android mobile application focused on the rental market, called Trulia – For Rent, in late September.
