Location: Houston
Price: $5.25 million
The Skinny: The intersection of Bissonnet and Montrose Streets in Houston, Texas is known to the locals as "Arts Corner." That’s because the campuses of the Museum of Fine Arts, Contemporary Arts Museum, and the Cullen Sculpture Garden all meet there. The fourth spot at the corner is occupied by this luxurious Italianate mansion, shrouded from the street by dense trees. The 6,000-square-foot spread might look like it was built in the good ol’ days, but, in fact, it was commissioned in 1990 and was added on to in 2002. Now the half-acre plot and the house are for sale for $5.25 million, quite a bit cheaper than some other Houston houses we’ve looked at.
