NEW YORK — Vern Yip, host of HGTV’s “Deserving Design” and a judge for the network’s “Design Star” series, shared staging tips on how to make for-sale listings shine during a presentation at the Real Estate Connect conference on Wednesday.
A minimalist approach with furniture can help to accentuate a space, for example, Yip said, and he suggested creative ways to turn awkward nooks and a small floor plan into usable space. Don’t just focus on the main rooms of a property when preparing for a sale, he also said. “You have to think about secondary spaces, as well,” he said.
“How you design can really impact how you sell property,” said Yip, who has won a Southeast Designer of the Year award for his firm’s work.
