Better Homes and Gardens now in Oregon

Realogy Corp.’s newest franchise, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, now has a presence in Oregon, with Clackamas-based Realty Partners Inc. joining the franchise network.

Realty Partners, formerly affiliated with Windermere Real Estate, has 100 sales associates serving the Portland metropolitan area and surrounding communities from five offices.

Co-owners John Tate and Eric Post, who founded the company in 2005, will now operate as Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Realty Partners, the companies said.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate network now claims approximately 7,000 sales associates and 190 offices serving homebuyers and sellers in 21 states: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia and Washington.

All told in 2010, the franchise has signed agreements with 11 brokerages with more than 3,000 agents.

Last month, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate announced agreements with David Winans Real Estate, a four-office brokerage serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area formerly affiliated with GMAC Real Estate, and Myrtle Beach, S.C.-based Elliott Realty.

In September, the franchise pulled off its biggest coup to date — a 20-year franchise agreement with Pleasanton, Calif.-based Mason-McDuffie Real Estate Inc., a former Prudential Real Estate brokerage with 1,900 agents working out of 36 offices in Northern California and Nevada.
