Rockville, Md.-based Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc., the nation’s largest multiple listing service, is offering a $100,000 grand prize to the creator of a "cool and innovative mobile app" for the real estate industry.
MRIS has set up a website for the "$100K Real Estate App Challenge" (REACH) at MRISInnovation.com.
MRIS is a Mid-Atlantic regional MLS that serves about 50,000 real estate agents and brokers.
Inman News sponsored a developers challenge, dubbed Connect, at the Real Estate Connect San Francisco conference last year. Two teams of developers built real estate apps during that conference (see "Real estate techies burn midnight oil").
And earlier this year, NabeWise won $25,000 worth of online advertising at Inman.com in a "Start-Up Shoot-Out" competition among tech startup companies at the Real Estate Connect New York conference.
