Fair Isaac Corp., developer of the FICO credit risk score, today announced the release of a free myFICO application in Apple’s online App Store that provides access to FICO’s Score Estimator tool.
The tool, also available at the MyFico.com Web site, features 10 questions that users must answer to receive an estimated credit-score range.
"The iPhone app helps you be smart about your FICO score anywhere, anytime, and it’s fun to boot," said Shon Dellinger, vice president of FICO’s myFICO.com division, in a statement. "FICO scores are more important than ever to lenders, which means consumers who use any type of credit really should know their score."
The app also features information about FICO’s scoring system and the company’s fee-based offerings.
"Rebuilding Homeownership," an Inman News special report, explores the impact of unemployment, foreclosure and bankruptcy on the future of the housing market, and the importance of credit scores in securing a home loan.
