ResidentialNYC.com, a real estate search portal launched by the Real Estate Board of New York trade group in September 2007, has entered into a joint venture with NY1 News, a 24-hour news channel that is a part of Time Warner Cable, to create a new Web site, NY1Residential.com.
The new site, which is expected to launch by the end of June, will replace ResidentialNYC.com and will combine news content from NY1 and real estate information from REBNY members.
Real estate brokerage company The Corcoran Group, a longtime holdout from sharing its listings on ResidentialNYC.com, in January announced that it would share thousands of listings at the site, which now has about 10,000 property listings in the New York City area.
NY1.com already offers a real estate section that provides information about the real estate market, including a weekly "Real Estate Report." As a part of the joint venture, an advertising campaign promoting the new residential site will air on 54 Time Warner Cable channels.
Steven Spinola, REBNY president, said in a statement, "REBNY members will reap substantial new marketing advantages by leveraging this new, high-impact marketing platform," noting that the collaboration is intended to draw a larger audience.
John Wollberg, co-chair of ResidentialNYC.com, said in a statement, "The wave of the future is the connecting of digital resources to broadcast media to reach even more targeted audiences."
Online real estate search and information company Trulia has powered ResidentialNYC.com since its launch. Listings at the site, which is free and does not require user registration, are updated every three hours.
