National online real estate brokerage ZipRealty Inc. will partner with location-based data and information firm Maponics to offer its users better neighborhood boundary data, the brokerage announced.
"Our clients have told us that searching and comparing properties by neighborhood is essential to purchasing a home," said Myron Lo, vice president of innovation at ZipRealty.
The boundary data will allow users to search for properties using "locally known neighborhood names, resulting in better search results," the company said.
The integration will go live on the ZipRealty site in about a month, according to a company spokesperson.
Maponics also announced earlier this month that the real estate division of Lender Processing Services Inc. will be using Maponics’ boundary data in its property search platforms. LPS is a technology and services company for the mortgage and real estate industries and the tech provider for Realtors Property Resource, a U.S. property information database being developed by the National Association of Realtors (see story).
LPS clients will get the choice of whether or not to use Maponics’ boundaries, the mapping company told Inman News.
