Zillow gets Windermere feed

Seattle-based Windermere Real Estate will syndicate all of its more than 30,000 for-sale listings in 10 Western states to Zillow.com, the companies said.

Windermere is the latest member of Zillow’s listings feed program, which allows any broker, multiple listing service or vendor with multiple listings to push them to Zillow automatically. The listings feed program, which launched in November 2007, now feeds data on more than 3.7 million listings to Zillow.com.

The partnership with Windermere was the first major addition to the listings feed program since November when, in separate announcements, Zillow said the Houston Association of Realtors and Weichart Realtors would feed listings to Zillow.com.

Previously announced partners in the listings feed program include Realogy, Homes & Land, and Prudential California-Nevada-Texas Realty.

Zillow made a splash when launching in early 2006 with automated property valuations, or "Zestimates," and home values and data on millions of homes.

The site’s growing database of property listings improves the real estate search experience for the site’s users, the company said, while attracting more visitors. Zillow claimed 8.8 million unique visitors in August, a 64 percent increase from a year ago.

Listing providers get free marketing exposure for their listings. The listings Windermere feeds to Zillow include property descriptions with multiple photos, contact information for the listing agent, and links back to the Windermere Web site.

The listings will also be accessible using the Zillow iPhone application, which Zillow said has now been downloaded more than 730,000 times since its launch in April.

In releasing an updated version of the iPhone app in June, Zillow said it had been downloaded 402,000 times.
