Adobe Flash ads depicting how Century 21 Real Estate LLC’s mapping tool might be used to search for a home far away from one’s mother-in-law have won "Best Real Estate Online Ad" in the Internet Advertising Competition Awards.
Century 21 announced in January that it would stop running national television ads and spend the money on online advertising instead (see story). The franchisor’s Mother-in-Law series was one of seven winners in the real estate category at the IAC Awards, which are produced by the Web Marketing Association.
Other winners in the real estate category included Austin, Texas-based Steel Advertising & Interactive, for an interactive annual report the firm produced for the Austin Board of Realtors (ABOR).
Another Texas-based ad firm, DMN3, took home two awards in the real estate category, one for an e-mail campaign that advertised a new San Antonio housing development using an illustration modelled after a movie poster, and the other for an integrated ad campaign using Flash spots to promote a new housing development.
Flying Point Media won best real estate rich media online campaign for work done on behalf of Prudential Douglas Elliman.
A Web site built by LBi to publicize a South Carolina resort community, Keowee Springs, was also singled out as outstanding.
