The New York Times has announced the creation of a new Real Estate API (application programming interface) that provides developers with access to a database of sales and listings data for real estate in the New York area.
The API opens up real estate data, provided by the NYC Department of Finance, going back to 2003, and listings data, provided by Times classified listings, going back to 2007.
The API empowers searches for the number of listings and sales within a particular ZIP code, neighborhood or borough, and for a particular type of building and date range.
