Australian-based REA Group, which operates RealEstate.com.au in Australia, nine other country-specific sites and a global property site, on Thursday announced the appointment of Greg Ellis as the company’s new chief executive officer.
Ellis, who is currently the marketing director for Microsoft’s Asia Online Services, will assume the new role Sept. 8. He succeeds Simon Baker who left the company earlier this month. Acting CEO Georg Chmiel will return to the role of CFO, which he has held for three and a half years.
Ellis has more than 20 years of business experience, 14 of which have been in senior line management positions. He has worked in Australia, Asia and Europe.
