Movoto adds new-home listings
Movoto.com, an online real estate site where consumers can search homes for sale in select states and find top-rated agents, on Thursday announced a partnership with NewHomeSource.com that will give visitors to Movoto.com the ability to search for new homes and custom builders.
The agreement will expose NewHomeSource.com’s listings to consumers searching for homes in the major metropolitan areas of California, Massachusetts, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia and Texas. NewHomeSource.com is operated by Builder Homesite Inc., a consortium of 36 of the nation’s largest home builders.
Movoto’s new-home and resale home listings include customized details on the surrounding neighborhood: local market data, school rankings and demographics.
Bid4Assets launches real estate-only auction site
Bid4Assets, a Web site that auctions cars, toys, electronics and jewelry, among other assets, today announced its new real estate-only auction Web site, Bid4Homes.com, and its unique partnership with listing agents.
Bid4Homes specializes in selling distressed real estate from banks, government agencies and private parties, and is touting a new tool to accelerate the sale of REO properties, called the 3in1 Listing Program.
The 3in1 Listing Program aims to maximize revenue and minimize holding time compared to traditional methods through a three-phrase plan that begins with an initial online auction; if that tactic doesn’t work, the property will be listed for sale on Bid4Homes.com, Bid4Assets.com and RealtyTrac.com; and if the property doesn’t sell in those two phases it will be re-auctioned online. Bid4Homes will pay listing agents a commission on a successful sale.
FrontDoor.com tops 3 million listings
FrontDoor.com, the real estate Web site powered by HGTV, announced on Friday it has more than 3 million listings of homes for sale across the country, approximately the same amount that Realtor.com boasts.
After launching in late 2007 with partner listings from Realogy Corp. and Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, FrontDoor.com has added additional listings partners with Condo.com, Prudential Real Estate, Locale and Keller Williams, and has also formed direct relationships with agents and brokers.
This month FrontDoor is also launching its first blog, "FrontDoor Unlocked," with bloggers that have real estate experience and know-how to share with both agents and consumers.
