Electronics retailer Best Buy has leased nearly 500,000 square feet of warehousing space in Perth Amboy, N.J., according to a recent announcement.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
The lease, which totals 499,863 square feet, covers Building II within the Amboy Corporate Center, which is currently under construction.
When completed, Amboy Corporate Center will comprise two buildings totaling 1.1 million square feet on 64 acres.
Amboy Corporate Center is part of The Portfield Initiatives, a joint effort by the New Jersey Economic Development Administration and Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to identify redevelopment sites near New Jersey’s ports. The center is a goal of the city of Perth Amboy’s redevelopment of the Chevron Asphalt Refinery surplus properties. The attractive new buildings were designed with 36-foot clear ceilings, 48-by-55-foot column spacing and an on-site trailer parking.
