Long-term mortgage interest rates decreased Friday, and the
benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield was down at 3.53 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average slipped to 6.09 percent, and the
15-year fixed rate fell to 5.49 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate decreased to 4.69 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield decreased to 4.54 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes
nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states.
Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 146.7 points, or 1.22 percent, finishing at 11,893.69.
The Nasdaq dipped 8.01 points, or 0.36 percent, closing at 2,212.49.
