Long-term mortgage interest rates continued higher Tuesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield was down at 3.86 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average climbed to 6.1 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate increased to 5.57 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate gained to 4.94 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield stayed at 4.66 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 114.7 points, or 0.91 percent, finishing at 12,684.92. The Nasdaq was up 17.51 points, or 0.75 percent, closing at 2,344.99.
