Long-term mortgage interest rates rose again Wednesday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield increased to 3.73 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average climbed to 5.64 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate gained to 5.1 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate, however, dipped to 5.04 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield was higher at 4.54 percent.

Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5.
In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 178.83 points, or 1.45 percent, finishing at 12,552.24. The Nasdaq was up 53.89 points, or 2.32 percent, closing at 2,373.93.
